1. Scope and operator
This Privacy Policy applies to the FitCred Resume Lens Chrome extension and related trial, subscription, support, and verification functionality (collectively, “FitCred” or the “Service”). FitCred Resume Lens is operated by Zachary Rohring (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
2. What FitCred does
FitCred is a hiring decision-support tool for reviewing fitness and nutrition resumes. It can parse resume and applicant-page text, summarize professional credentials and experience, analyze writing quality, help check supported credential or education claims against primary sources, and suggest interview follow-up questions.
FitCred does not make automatic hiring, rejection, ranking, or other employment decisions on behalf of an employer. A human reviewer should evaluate the underlying evidence and make employment decisions.
3. Information FitCred processes
Resume and applicant information
FitCred can process information visible in the active resume, PDF, or supported applicant page. Depending on the document, this may include a candidate’s name, contact details, employment history, education, certifications, skills, resume prose, credential identifiers, dates, and other information included in the application materials.
Core resume analysis is performed locally in the user’s browser. FitCred does not send resume or applicant content to ExtensionPay or Stripe.
Active page information
FitCred may process the title and URL of the active resume, PDF, or applicant page solely to provide the requested FitCred workflow. FitCred does not build, sell, or monitor a user’s general browsing history.
Trial and subscription information
FitCred uses ExtensionPay for Pro-trial activation, subscription-entitlement checks, account login/reactivation, plan selection, and subscription-management flows. FitCred may receive or cache limited account information that ExtensionPay provides, such as an entitlement key, trial timing, paid status, plan, subscription status, cancellation timing, and email address.
Stripe processes payment information used to purchase a FitCred Pro subscription. FitCred does not receive or store complete payment-card numbers, card security codes, or bank credentials.
4. Primary-source verification
When the user initiates a supported credential or education check, FitCred may open or interact with a public verification service and submit the minimum information needed for that check, such as a candidate name, credential number, certification type, or other identifier supplied in the resume or by the reviewer.
Supported verification providers may include credential or certification directories hosted by third parties. Those providers receive information according to their own privacy policies and terms. FitCred does not bypass login requirements, consent flows, CAPTCHAs, or other access controls.
5. Writing and communication analysis
FitCred may analyze candidate-authored resume prose locally to estimate writing complexity, grammar, clarity, vocabulary, and professional tone. These signals describe the writing sample only. They are not measurements of intelligence, disability, native language, or spoken communication ability, and they should not be used as automatic employment decisions.
6. Browser storage
FitCred uses Chrome extension storage to keep information needed to provide the requested workflow. This can include settings, analysis state, verification state, diagnostic controls, and a limited snapshot of trial/subscription entitlement information. Limited ExtensionPay-related account state may use Chrome sync storage when available, which can be synchronized by Google according to the user’s Chrome settings.
7. Diagnostics
FitCred includes diagnostic functionality intended to help troubleshoot parsing and verification. A diagnostic report can contain resume/application text, page metadata, parser results, and verification traces. Diagnostic data remains local unless the user intentionally exports or shares it. Permanent beta testers may use a user-controlled email/share workflow that prepares the diagnostic JSON for sharing; FitCred does not automatically transmit the report.
Users should treat diagnostic files as potentially containing applicant personal information and share them only when necessary and authorized.
8. Chrome permissions
- debugger: used during user-requested resume/PDF extraction and supported verification workflows to access Chrome page/accessibility interfaces needed for those operations.
- tabs: used to identify the active supported page and open user-requested verification, account, trial, payment, and subscription-management pages.
- storage: used to store preferences, workflow state, diagnostics state, and limited entitlement information.
- sidePanel: used to display FitCred beside the resume or applicant page.
- clipboardRead / clipboardWrite (optional): requested only for user-initiated local-PDF helper and copy workflows.
- ExtensionPay host access: used to check trial/subscription entitlement and open ExtensionPay account/payment flows.
- Optional verification-site access: requested only when needed for supported verification providers.
FitCred’s executable JavaScript is packaged with the extension. FitCred does not download and execute remotely hosted code.
9. How information is used
We use information only to provide features the user requests; maintain settings and entitlement state; perform supported verification workflows; troubleshoot and improve FitCred when a user voluntarily provides diagnostics; respond to support and billing requests; prevent abuse; and comply with applicable legal obligations.
10. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell resume or applicant information, and FitCred does not use that information for behavioral advertising.
Information may be processed by service providers only as needed for the services they provide, including ExtensionPay for trial/subscription infrastructure and Stripe for payment processing. Verification-site operators receive the lookup data submitted to their sites when a verification check is performed.
We may also disclose information when legally required or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, security, users, or the Service.
11. Retention and deletion
Locally stored extension data generally remains until it is overwritten, cleared through available controls or Chrome storage, or removed when the extension is uninstalled, subject to Chrome synchronization behavior.
Uninstalling FitCred does not automatically cancel a paid subscription or delete information held by ExtensionPay, Stripe, Google, or third-party verification providers. Subscription cancellation should be performed through FitCred’s subscription-management flow or the applicable billing service.
Support or business records are retained only as reasonably necessary for support, security, accounting, disputes, and legal obligations.
12. Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to a browser extension and seek to minimize the information sent outside the browser. No browser, device, network, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Users are responsible for protecting access to their browser profile, employer systems, email, and billing accounts.
13. Employment-decision limitation
FitCred is designed to assist a human reviewer. Scores, tiers, writing signals, verification results, and suggested interview questions are supporting information, not automatic hiring recommendations. Users are responsible for applying appropriate employment policies, obtaining any required consent, assessing job relevance, and complying with applicable employment, privacy, disability, and anti-discrimination laws.
14. User choices
Users can stop local processing by closing or uninstalling the extension, clear locally stored extension data through Chrome, decline optional verification permissions, and manage or cancel a Pro subscription through the billing-management flow.
For information controlled directly by ExtensionPay, Stripe, Google, a recruiting platform, or a credential-verification provider, users may need to contact that provider.
15. Chrome Web Store Limited Use
FitCred’s use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when FitCred’s features, service providers, permissions, or legal obligations change. We will update the effective date above when the policy changes and provide additional notice when required.
